Noosa (including Noosa Heads, Noosaville and Sunshine Beach) has long been regarded as a premier Australian holiday destinations.

Noosa is at the northern end of the sub-tropical Sunshine Coast. It is a pleasant 24 kilometres drive along the coast to Sunshine Coast Airport and 138 kms from Brisbane.

Noosa Shire occupies 875 square kilometres, almost 35 per cent of this is made up of national parks, forest, lakes and streams.

The current population of the Noosa Shire is approximately 50,000 permanent residents, although tourism based seasonal fluctuations can boost that number by up to 50%.

The shire stretches from the blue waters of the Pacific ocean at Peregian Beach, out to the lush, green hinterland in the small town of Federal.

Noosa Weather

Noosa's climate is sub-tropical, and the weather in pleasant all year. Water temperatures range from 19 degrees celcius in winter to around 25 degrees celsius in summer.

Shopping in Noosa

Hastings Street is famous all over Australia for its fine shopping and restaurants. Shops line both sides of Hastings Street and in between find Noosa's fine restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. Bay Village in the centre of Hastings Street has recently been redeveloped as an arcade of small specialist shops built around a Food Court.

Hastings Street is currently undergoing a major upgrade with a new look that will create a more pedestrian-friendly environment with more seating areas and better links to the beach.

Noosa Farmers Market is a very popular market with locals and visitors. All the products on sale are produced by the stall holder.

Located in the centre of Eumundi, the Eumundi market has grown to become a major tourist attraction. There are wide shady walkways as you browse over 500 stalls. A strict policy of make it, bake it, design it, sew it or grow it ensures the very best of local items

Noosa Junction is the primary shopping centre for Noosa and here all the main shops and banks are located. Noosa Fair is home to Coles and many speciality shops.

Noosaville's shopping areas are located off Gibson Road where there are a cluster of shopping centres.

There are over 170 restaurants in Noosa. Hastings Steet has over 30.

National Park

Noosa National Park features spectacular coastal scenery and provides an important refuge for wildlife including native birds and the koala.

Noosa National park borders on 3 main beaches - Noosa Main Beach, Sunshine Beach and Alexandria Bay. The park also has beautiful bays and coves along it's seaside fringe. The Park covers an area of about 477 hectares and has a huge maze of walking trails throughout it.
